Elise Heather Designs' Etsy store launched in August 2015 with only a handful of woven pieces. It started out as a creative outlet to find some peace among my hectic home and family life. As my obsession with fibre art grew, so did the number of listings. Within the first few months I knew that this was what I wanted to do. I soon discovered macrame and that's when EHD really took over. I had (and still have) piles of cord and yarn and off cuts throughout my whole home. Then we were lucky enough to find ourselves in a new home with more space, which meant I could have a space to call my very own studio. I have packed it full of all my favourite things. My shelves are stocked full of fabric, yarns, cotton cord and other creative bits and pieces.
In the past 5 years Elise Heather Designs has grown into what it is today. We now specialize in beautiful, one-of-a-kind home decor pieces and teaching others the art of macrame, weaving, embroidery and mixed media textile arts.
Hello! I'm Elise and I'm the mind behind Elise Heather Designs. I am 30-something and am a mum to three. You won't see my munchkins on my public social media but you may meet them at the occasional market. My home is not only filled with children but also my vast collection of thrifted and handmade items. I love nothing more than finding a bargain or something unique and handmade. If it were to have a label, I suppose you could say I have an eclectic, vintage-y, boho, style going on in my home. But really it's just a collection of things I love. You can find some pics of my home at @house.of.woods on Instagram.
I love all things crafty, eclectic home decor and finding a unique second hand items. I am totally obsessed with house plants. Ask me about my collection and I could waffle on for hours. I have a soft spot for animals. My family and I have many pets and you will meet a few of them during classes I hold at my home.
