Choose a photo with the following to acheive a good result:
* Colour or black & white but with rich darks and lights. Good contast.
* One subject with sufficient room around thier head. 
* Face-on is easier to work with but profile also works.
* Square photos fit the hoop better but other sizes will also work as long as the subject is centred with sufficient room each side.
